Nakagawa Mokko-gei Hira Workshop

Shuji Nakagawa, the third-generation head of Nakagawa Mokkougei, has established the Nakagawa Mokkougei Hira Workshop in the Hira Mountains of Shiga Prefecture, where he creates numerous beautiful white-wood products, including rice tubs and sushi tubs. In recent years, he has also taken on innovative, design-rich works that are difficult to express, continuing to pass on the spirit and techniques of craftsmanship adapted to the times and culture.
